I mean, I dreaded some of the elements you mentioned before playing it and even looked around for mods that disable gear deterioration but after playing it I saw there's just an early learning curve and then you manage pretty easily as long as you ignore some objectively unbalanced stuff like the reportedly useless psi class (which I learned of its shortcomings after playing, I went with Navy anyway myself as it sounded like the simplest/best to start with). I wont lie Ive given myself some med packs and ammo on occasion (frickin assassins). If you like real Survival Horror that keeps you on your toes then I recommend it. The fun and tense gameplay outweighs the interface flaws and other jankiness. See a Cyborg? Better hope you can swap to Armor Piercing ammo before it kills you. And yeah the clunky interface adds to that. Like I said, the game is tough.īut its fun because its tense. Then Cyborg Assassins start showing up to rain on your parade. Out of ammo? Hope you can melee strafe.īut eventually you get a good supply of ammo and health items etc. You cant take a hit and they can take several. Last but not least, the game is difficult. Especially when 4 enemies pop up and 2 of them explode when they catch you. Need chems to research, hope you find the chem roomĮnemies take like 2 hits with a club to die but also 3 blasts from a shotgun? What?Įnemy respawn can be lame. Want to use a med bed? Need a special key. Full clip of normal bullets to down a guy with or ONE anti-personel bullet. Gun decay (OMG fuck gun decay) (Hope you took maintenance!).Ī revolver takes up as much space as a wrench which takes up as much space as a shotgun which takes up the same space as a grenade launcher. I really wish the Remaster hadn't ended up with issues.Īnyways onto System Shock 2, which I have been streaming on Twitch (Pilgrimzer0) (And can also be found on my Youtube) Even one of the devs said looking back the interface was "bad". I wanted to go back and try the System Shock games. Bioshock 1 and Infinite are 2 of my GoaT games.
